Sooo swamped with setting up the shop. But really, I have gotten a lot of complaints about not doing the modern online shop thing. A SUPER pain that deserved my procrastination, although Godaddy and SHopify have made things a lot easier. It WILL be done by June 15, 2017 and we will be also do pre-orders for the new design production to bring to the San Diego Comic Con in July. Remember, these are the original style of printing. Screen printing. Not the ooky on demand stuff that feels like a rubber badge and weathers so poorly. This is forever print. Even though I have been doing this kind of design for decades, I am in search engine competition with all of those insty-print joints. Especially for the word burlesque, and burlesque t-shirts.
As a result, I have to kinda lay it on thick here with overly descriptive terms. I will try to at least keep it entertaining though.
Once the site is fully functional we can better create this sharing site for Geeks, Freaks, the Tongue in Cheeks, and other explorers of art and music. Comic News too. There is some great alternative stuff out there not getting enough attention. We’ll help.
If you want to be a part of the secret shopping for this cavalcade of pin up quality clothing, and burlesque t-shirts-

Time is slow when waiting… am I immortal yet?
I am still gathering data, still meeting important people in self-important people meetings, still waiting for answers to other questions that allow me to put together time commitments, THEN I can really work on this (here) online project.
In the meantime. Check out this stunning record-setting mural my old buddy Shepard Fairey did in Las Vegas, where he was met and gifted by yet another old buddy Branden Powers with pizza. (Yes it IS a small world.)
Street artist Shepard Fairey’s mural on The Plaza in downtown Las Vegas.
Yes. I am killing time and sharing excuses while showing my friends achievements that don’t seem to have those to whine about. EVERYONE knows about Shepard and Obey and will know even more with whatever he’s about to do next, since he’s a super political activist and I am sure the Trump thing will not sit well. Already Shepard has issued some beautiful Women’s Rights posters. There will be more.
(first 3 shown bottom, keep scrolling)
That’s Shepard on the left and Branden lurking.
Branden? Oh he’s just the serial entrepreneur and serial that’s-just-so-crazy-it-might-work idea man that brought Vegas- The Golden Tiki AND teamed up with the son of Evel Knievel to bring EVEL PIE to the Fremont District in downtown Las Vegas.
Outside and Inside
Maybe that is why I am subconsciously thinking of them as I’m somewhat mired by circumstance. Shepard is the hardest working artist, hell maybe even the hardest working person of all, that I have ever met. And Branden? That cat is one of the old school people responsible for the EDM scene as it is. He was a GIANT rave promoter before EDM became an uhh, abbreviation (?), and since has been a juggernaut of weird throughout the wastelands of Nevada. They are two of my heroes and should be yours too.
Back soon, Rex
Man, it LOOKS like we are a world-class pop metropolitan, what with Comic Con followed up by this coolness. It’s not. San Diego is still a frat-brat, binge-drinking, bro-town. We just have these breaks to cultivate our culture and talent (that ultimately heads north to LA or SF).
We will be VENDING the Danger Factory and Popular Naughty collections here over the weekend while we alternate our drooling over kustom kars and hula girls. Come see our pop subversive streetwear!

Comic Con has re-invaded San Diego, out streets team with Hollywood special effect goons, pop-up shops are peeking out of their nooks, and the party atmosphere begins to coalesce. This lil’ ol’ blogmediasite- Danger Factory, is getting ready too. This is really our official launch and we are teaming up with Nerdular: a new online geek community for collectibles and networking, the clever, opinionated and gorgeous ComicBookGirl19, and the rambunctious and talented PodCrash/G4 host, Chris Gore, for our Industry Night for the Comic Con and Media Professionals. Friday Night of the Con.
There will be about 500 to 700 of you coming through our office loft on 5th Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter and we hope to say hi to you all. We’ll also be hosting the Free Gaslamp Quarter WiFi during the Con. We hope to announce some booze sponsors later today, so hang tight.
Come by our booth AT comic Con (#1617) and see our geek friendly, bad ass, punk rock, social monkeywrenching streetwear and meet our superstar co-host.
Pre-Apocalyptic music impresarios Die Antwoord have unleashed another short musical (music video just doesn’t do it justice). Again we see the uber-hot Yolandi Visser push the envelope. In fact she pushes it way off the table, into the next room, out the door and into the street. This is going to offend many sensitive pansies. Don’t be one of them. Enjoy the shock. It is the work of beautiful monsters.
LOVE Yolandi Visser! She has so many looks (most of them sinister) and the art direction Ninja brings to the table is magnificent in its horrific beauty.
Then there is the SUPER sinister look. Still kinda hot though.
I have never owned a slide rule. I suspect that that simple fact excludes me from purebred nerd-dom. But why guess?
Over at Slackpropagation, A Web Journal about Machine Learning, Music, and other Mischief, they did a statistical sample of data using a developer portal at Twitter to look at over 26 million tweets. They found the following nerdy/geeky words and looked at whether they were also associated with “geek” or “nerd”.
On about 90% of these I agree. How “punk” got on the Nerd side I don’t know, ALL my music geek friends are into punk. Microsoft landing on the Geek side is also odd. But hey, this isn’t cancer research, it’s a frickin’ data whim.
Aah, but other than that it seems kinda bullseyeish, even the sad bits like “loneliness”, “autistic”, and “smartypants”. The full dose of info is fascinating. They took it pretty seriously. For example:
“Both are dedicated to their subjects, and sometimes socially awkward. The distinction is that geeks are fans of their subjects, and nerds are practitioners of them. A computer geek might read Wired and tap the Silicon Valley rumor-mill for leads on the next hot-new-thing, while a computer nerd might read CLRS and keep an eye out for clever new ways of applying Dijkstra’s algorithm. Note that, while not synonyms, they are not necessarily distinct either: many geeks are also nerds (and vice versa).”
There you go. Self categorize at your leisure.
A more thorough explanation of how they created this infographic can be found at their website. (http://slackprop.wordpress.com/2013/06/03/on-geek-versus-nerd/)
